Dopamine Dressing: Part 1 of 2

My Current Must Haves

Have you ever heard the term Dopamine Dressing? Dopamine dressing can be different for everyone. It’s simply just wearing the clothes that make you feel good! That could be joggers and a sweater. It could be your favorite pair of jeans; or it could be that dress you were saving for a special occasion. For some, bright colors is what boosts their mood and is often associated with dopamine dressing. For me, it’s all of these plus actually putting the whole look together from head to toe. It’s putting on that outfit that makes you feel like a million bucks, stand tall and feel extra confident! Here are my absolute must haves that will have you feeling AH MA ZING… and give you that Dopamine Dressing Experience!

Love Chico’s

Incontro A Tavola, South Barrington

The 3D Embroidered Floral Shirt is inspired by seasonal flowers. Featuring 3D embroidered floral embellishments, this woven shirt has all the hallmarks of a woven shirt, plus billow statement sleeves for added flair. I paired it with the Pull-On Embellished Ankle Pants, which are made with Chico’s So Slimming® 360 stretch fabric that shapes your mid section. These pull-on crop pants feature gorgeous embroidery at the hems. The Black Raffia Tote seems like a perfect pairing with the 3D shirt. I liked the texture of the shirt and the raffia tote! This lined tote has inside pockets that can carry whatever you need to bring with you, from the office to date night. You can easily leave the shirt open and layer it over a tank or a cami. It’s not evident in the pictures that I’m wearing a v neck tank underneath the shirt. One styling option is to tie the shirt tails at the waist and leave it unbuttoned, which is what I opted to do as it’s figure flattering on my hourglass figure. I popped the collar added my black and white pumps and was ready for the fashion show!

Another styling option with this shirt and pants would be to add a pop of color! You know I love all the bright colors. Any color would work! Since it’s February, I was contemplating adding a red tank, red shoes and red accessories…however; think pink, blue, green, yellow…there’s no color that wouldn’t work!

Pictured below with Val, the store manager of the Chico’s in South Barrington. Val is wearing The Tweed and Faux Leather Moto Jacket, which combines one of your favorite cuts with two of your favorite fabrics. Featuring a tweed fabric body, this jacket has faux leather on the collar and trim, triple fray detailing on the sleeves, Ponte fabric sides for shaping, and the classic moto design.

Black and white is so classic and will literally be in your closet for years to come! I switched out the 3D shirt for this tee with embellished sleeves. Get comfortable with getting attention in Chico’s Embellished Long Sleeve Tee. The soft knit body is relaxed and casual, while the woven sleeves hold their shape and bring the drama. Featuring embroidered statement sleeves this tee turns your everyday style up a notch.

Cindy’s Looks

Cindy has an apple shaped figure. (To see a previous blog post on Styling Tips for the Apple Shaped Body, click HERE.) Therefore, she prefers things that are loose fitting in her midsection. The Pleat Sleeve Ikat Print Top is perfect for her petite apple shaped figure. Cindy wore it untucked but tucking it in is also an option. Here Cindy paired the Pleat Sleeve Ikat Print Top with the Frayed Hem Pull-On Jegging and added the Adjustable Long Pendant Necklace. Earlier in the day Cindy texted me various shoe options. I recommended the iridescent sneakers she’s pictured wearing. Cindy received lots of compliments both on her look and her super cute sneakers.

A second way to style this exact look and to add a little warmth is by adding the Blue Tape Yarn Poncho. This option is also figure flattering on her petite apple shape. The Blue Multistrand Pendant Necklace pops against the poncho!

    Hi Julie
I’m in the market for a mother of the groom dress. I’m a more simple dresser but ABSOLUTELY do not want to look like the groom’s grandmother. Evening wedding and reception ( cocktail attire for guests). Keep me in mind as you are shopping please🤔.
