How to Wear Leopard Print

FTF recently did a post on the snakeskin print trend. (Click HERE.) It appears we’re long over due for a post on leopard! Leopard print is always trending but this year it seems to be a major trend! You can think of leopard print as a neutral. It can be combined with other animal prints. Think pattern mixing – leopard, snakeskin, zebra, cheetah although this is a bit out of my comfort zone. I have seen many others do it effectively! Would you wear leopard head to toe? Perhaps head to toe is way too much for you. You can always just add a touch of leopard to almost any look and with any color! The other great thing about leopard print is that it can be worn all year long no matter the season, which makes pieces very versatile. That’s a total win!

FTF likes to tease our gal pal Lynn as she’s always about the leopard print and has been since as long as we can remember! This is your season to shine my dear friend! For more about our friend Lynn: Click HERE.

Leopard Sweaters and Cardigans

This particular sweater has a couple of things going for it. It’s super soft and has statement sleeves, which has been trending and continues to trend. This sweater is easily dressed up or down and could easily be paired with black or blue jeans and tan colored pants. This particular sweater is from Glik’s in Michigan.

The sweater below is a lighter weight but also super soft and again easily dressed up or down. I wore this sweater to work with dress pants and then with jeans. If this is too much leopard for you, think of adding just a pop of leopard like the purse pictured. The coat is vintage and was once my mom’s.

Cardigans are on trend this season and continuing into spring. Cardigans are so easy to style and look flattering on every body type as it easily camouflages any mid-section flaws. Both the cardigans pictured are super soft and very warm. I’ve paired mine with my favorite faux leather leggings that I’ve been talking about since this past fall. Add some booties and accessories and your good to go!

What’s the difference between cheetah, leopard and jaguar prints you ask? Good question! I found myself wondering the same thing. I think this visual explains it best. Would you wear these prints together?

Leopard print goes so well with any color! I was attracted to the uniqueness of this sweater’s color (bright pink pop!) and the cut! It’s oversized sleeves (super trendy) and long tunic length make it perfect with leggings and forgiving on any mid-section flaws!

This leopard print coat is one of my FAVORITES! I purchased it last year and am so glad that I did! It’s super warm for the cold winters here in Illinois! It goes well with almost everything and every color! When I wear it, I don’t want to take it off! It’s kind of too big now, but I don’t care! It looks great with bright pops of color!

Booties and Pumps

Leopard is now considered a neutral. I’m pushing myself to think of it as such and have seen many gals pair it with stripes, florals, etc. It looks great worn all ways so will be more of a preference and your comfort! Here are my leopard booties paired with my plaid pants…my effort at pattern mixing and using leopard as a neutral!

Hi there! I just popped over from Tania’s blog. I have to say I love your style with leopard prints! I have lots of animal prints and think you can wear more than one at a time if you want to and do it right. My two favourite colours to wear it with are pink (love those pink booties) and denim blue. It’s nice to see someone who loves colour and print the way I do. That’s what drew me to Tania. I’ll be back!
