Clothes That Transition Into Fall

TRANSITION YOUR WARDROBE FROM SUMMER TO FALL

I can’t believe I’m saying this…. in a couple of weeks we officially say goodbye to summer.    I’m still wearing summer clothes for another month or so (Tucson summers seem to drag on right about now). Even so, I’ve already started thinking about how I can make the seasonal shift to fall with versatile pieces.

Of course, I’m also looking for a bargain. Lots of stores are reducing prices on their summer items.  Check out our Weekly Sales Alerts . The key is to find just the right piece that can transition to the next season.  The old rule about sales still applies: don’t buy something just because it’s on sale!

I’m having fun looking ahead and deciding on new pieces I want to incorporate with my basics.  Here are some transitional items I’ve been contemplating:

Scarves

If you follow our blog, you know that I love a scarf!  (If you missed the post click here) I like both of these from Shoptiques.  The neutral colors pair well with a wide range of shades. I love the warm tones and pattern of the one on the top. The one on the bottom is definitely a staple scarf! splendor-scarf-multicolor neutral scarf

Layer a light sweater or cardigan

These are classic cross-seasonal items. I need them now for overly air-conditioned offices, stores, and restaurants. In a couple of months this will be that necessary layer that lets me keep wearing lighter tops.   I think this floral cardigan from Nordstrom looks great with just about anything.  It comes in Regular & Petite and it’s on sale! Jeans in a new color

I have dark denims, so I’m toying with a color that crosses the season.   I really like these by NYDJ.  Perfect with summer tanks and fall jackets.  I think they would be great with ankle boots as well as sandals. Plus, they too are on sale right now at Nordstrom! Click here to be taken to siteNYDJ red jeans

Layering tops

I’m looking for more of a Fall-ish color and like the high-low styles.  Love this one from Macy’s.  It’s such a rich burgundy that can go through to winter as well.   It will look great under a blazer, cardigan and/or leather jacket.  They also have a number of other colors.  It’s on sale for $24.99!  Click here

Shoes that aren’t sandals

While I’m still able to wear sandals for a few more months, I will start transitioning to darker colors like tan, black and brown.  But I’m really looking for booties that don’t scream “winter”.  I found these  neutral booties (on sale!) from Nordstrom (they also come in black) Click Here
